Two things I’ve found to be TRUE about TRUTH!

In life, there WILL be times when we get asked the tough questions by those close to us.

We are then faced with the decision, should I tell them the truth…

As a pastor, I get put in this position OFTEN.  Some people say that I am too honest (not sure if that’s possible).

I have found a couple of things to be TRUE, when it comes to TRUTH:

  1. Truth can hurt.
Most people already have the answer they are looking for in their mind, when they ask the question.  When the truth doesn’t line up with their reality, it can hurt. A LOT!  Does that mean we shouldn’t tell them?
  2. Truth can also heal.
This is my favorite one.  The Bible says, we are set free when we know the truth.  I guess that’s why I’m so “honest” sometimes.  I really do want to see people FREE!  I think we always need to be honest, but also sensitive to the needs of others.  Share the truth in love.

I heard a saying, “The truth hurts for a little while, but lies hurt forever”.

There’s A LOT of TRUTH in that.

Mountains BOW DOWN!

Last Sunday at Faith Renewed, we broke out of the vault what is probably my FAVORITE worship song of ALL time, Shout To The Lord.

It’s been a long time since we’ve sung this one, but I have to say, the anointing (YES, I believe there is such a thing) is still on it!

In my opinion, it has some of the most powerful words written since Amazing Grace.

Two lines stand out to me above the others,  Nothing Compares To The Promise & Mountains Bow Down

If God has EVER given you a promise, He HASN’T changed His mind!

There may be a mountain standing between you and your promise today.  God’s Word says in Psalm 97:5, the mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD.

Praise the LORD!  Lift HIM up!  Command that mountain to move, & watch it BOW DOWN at the sound of HIS name!

WOW!

Talking About A Right NOW Word!

We kicked off a study of the Book of Colossians Wednesday night at Faith Renewed.

In preparation for this study, I read the “Personal Application” section on Colossians, in my New Spirit Filled Life Bible.  I was blown away by what it said.  Paul wrote Colossians to the church in Colosse, but it’s a timely Word for the church in America.

I was asked to post what I read by someone in our church.  Ask, and you shall receive…

Here it is:

Because this is an age of religious pluralism and syncretism (that is, a diluting of truth for the sake of unity), Christ’s lordship is deemed irrelevant by many religious groups that believe one religion is as good as the other.  His preeminence is denied by others that place the Christian stamp upon a fusion of beliefs from several religions.  Usually held as an advance beyond apostolic Christianity, this blend promises self-fulfillment and freedom without surrender to Christ.

“Jesus is Lord” is the church’s earliest confession.  It remains the abiding test of authentic Christianity.  Neither the church nor the individual believer can afford to compromise Christ’s deity.  In His sovereignty lies His sufficiency.  He will be Lord of everything or not Lord at all.

Can I get an AMEN?!!!

I’M PUMPED!

We’re kicking off a new Series this Sunday at Faith Renewed entitled The Parable.

I get excited about EVERY study we do, but I must say, I’m SUPER pumped about this one!

Each week we’re going to take a look at a different parable that Jesus taught.  It’s exciting to think about Jesus telling these stories, and lives being changed because of His Words THEN.

I can’t wait to see what He does with them NOW!
