Statistics Don’t Lie…

Someone sent me this.  I thought it was so good, I had to share it with you.

How to stay safe in the world today!

Where is the safest place?

  1. Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents.
  2. DO NOT stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home.
  3. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians.
  4. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation.
  5. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in Hospitals. So, above all else, AVOID hospitals.

But…….

You will be pleased to learn, that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are usually related to a previous physical disorder.

Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time, is at CHURCH!

See you Sunday!

Let’s Make A Deal!

Last night at Faith Renewed, I had the opportunity to fill in for our Student Pastor, while he was tanning on a beach off the Atlantic Ocean.

I had a blast!  I love young people, & always enjoy spending time with them…

We looked at 2 portions of scripture, Genesis 4:7 & Revelation 3:20. Both passages refer to doors, but there’s a BIG difference in what’s behind each one…

In Genesis, we see that “sin lies” at that door.  The original language here, shows sin as a crazed animal at the doorstep.

In Revelation, Jesus Himself is standing at that door, waiting to come inside and have a relationship with you.

The night was complete with our very own rendition of the game show, Let’s Make A Deal (Monty Hall would have been proud).

Unlike the game show, we don’t have to wonder what’s behind the doors we choose in our Spiritual life.  We don’t know all of the details, & all of the different obstacles we will face along the way, but we can know Who will be with us…

So, Let’s Make A Deal!

The Prosperity Gospel…

The term “Prosperity Gospel” raises a lot of eyebrows, and has been the subject of great debate.

It seems that most people are on one side or the other of the prosperity fence.  You have one side shouting that we should have EVERYTHING,  and the other saying we should have NOTHING.

I’m concluding the DNA Series this week at Faith Renewed & I’m dealing with what we believe in this area.

Here are a few my thoughts:

  • TRUE PROSPERITY IS BEING IN GOD’S PRESENCE.  Jesus came, lived, died, rose, & is coming again, so that we can be with Him forever.
  • Just because some ministers have perverted The Message & abused people, doesn’t change the fact that God does desire to bless His people.
  • We need to be clear on the PURPOSE of prosperity.  We are blessed TO BE a blessing.  It’s not about you!
  • We believe in Total Prosperity. (3 John 2)
    Spiritual (John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 10:9-10)
    Mental (2 Timothy 1:7, Romans 12:2, Isaiah 26:3)
    Physical (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24)
    Financial (Malachi 3:8-12, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6-10, Philippians 4:19)
  • God has made provision for us in each of these categories, but we have to access them.
  • HE LOVES YOU!  Receiving that love is the greatest blessing you can have.
Those are a few of my thoughts.  What are yours?
