Teachable Moments…

This morning, my 7 year old received the award for, “Most Creative” in his first grade class.  His teacher got that  right!  Caleb’s always coming up with, and saying some very “creative” things.  (If you follow me on Twitter, you get some samples of them.)

On our way home, we discussed what “creative” means.  We had a great time talking about everything from movies, to video games…  I also used this as an opportunity to talk to him about the greatest Creator ever, God.

To the parents that read my blog, make the most of every opportunity…

Our time with our kids is short.  Make it count!

Worth Sharing Again…

Someone sent me this.  I thought it was so good, I had to share it with you.

How to stay safe in the world today!

Where is the safest place?

  1. Avoid riding in automobiles because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents.
  2. DO NOT stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home.
  3. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks because 14% of all accidents occur to pedestrians.
  4. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water because 16% of all accidents involve these forms of transportation.
  5. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in Hospitals. So, above all else, AVOID hospitals.

But…….

You will be pleased to learn, that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, and these are usually related to a previous physical disorder.

Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time, is at CHURCH!

My Woman & The Word…

I LOVE it when something in God’s Word really connects with my wife, and she shares it with me!

Last night when we were reading, that happened.

This is what she read…

1 Peter 2:21-25 The Message

21 This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.
22 He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss.
23 They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right.
24 He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.
25 You were lost sheep with no idea who you were or where you were going. Now you’re named and kept for good by the Shepherd of your souls.

What’s verse or passage of scripture, leaps off the page and into your heart, when you read it?
