On more than one occasion my wife has said to me, “You need a mint or a piece of gum.” At first, I want to retaliate with a, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!?! Thankfully, something (fear/the Holy Spirit…) 🙂 always stops me from doing that. It doesn’t take long for me to realize she’s not trying to hurt my feelings, she’s trying to help me out.
If you have people in your life that love you enough to tell you the truth even when it hurts, YOU ARE BLESSED! There are so many folks out there that will tell you what they think you WANT to hear, instead of what you NEED to hear. That’s NOT a true friend. Proverbs 27:6 says, Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Be very careful of those that tell you things you want to hear for their personal gain. “Tough love is better than flattering hypocrisy.”
Now don’t get me wrong. TRUTH SHOULD ALWAYS BE PARTNERED WITH LOVE. It should come from a heart of love, and your motives should be pure. DON’T tell them that dress makes their butt look big to HURT them!
Bottom line, sometimes we do NEED a Tic Tac. BE THANKFUL for the people in your life that will tell you.
We kicked off a new Series yesterday at Faith Renewed called RESTORATION.
MY GOD IS A RESTORER!
No matter what the enemy has taken from you, God can restore it to a condition FAR GREATER than ever before!
In the Book of Joel, we see that Judah had been completely destroyed by locusts. Even the bark was gone off the trees. This was a situation that would take years to recover from. If they could recover at all. God had a better plan! He said in Joel 2:25, I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten…
Here are a few things that lead to restoration in our life.
God can do more in one moment than we can do in months.
RESTORATION is HERE!
I love living! Plan on doing it as long as the good Lord allows me to.
Lately however, I do find myself thinking about how good heaven must be. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to rush it! If Jesus doesn’t return soon…I want to stay here and hold my great great grandchildren one day (not rushing that either).
You have to agree. It’s hard to look around at so much deception, corruption, sickness, disease, and heartache in this world. I know the answer to each of these is JESUS. So, I will continue to MAKE HIM KNOWN until He comes, or I go see Him.
I believe it’s okay to pause from time to time, take our minds off of all the chaos, and look towards heaven. WHAT A DAY! Let that picture of heaven be one of the things that fuels you to take as many with you as you can.
Below is a video I’ve watched many times. Yes, it’s a little dated, but it’s AWESOME! Let’s be mindful of His return, but occupy until He comes.
Ephesians 3: 20 says, Now to him who is able to do immeasurably MORE than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…
2013 may not have been your best…It’s not too late to finish this year the right way!
God wants to do MORE in your life than you could ever imagine.
Join me this Sunday at Faith Renewed and FINISH STRONG.
