Well, I didn’t win the lottery…Probably because I didn’t buy a ticket.
My life is still an incredible RAGS to RICHES success story. According to the Book of Isaiah, my righteousness is like filthy rags…That is until I surrendered my life to Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 5, the Apostle Paul says, “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” I’M A WINNER!!!
Paul goes on to say in chapter 8, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” I’M RICH! I’M RICH!! I’M RICH!!! This is SO MUCH better than earthly riches, and Uncle Sam can’t tax 30% of it.
Would I like to be $1.5 BILLON richer??? Of course. Is what I have worth more than that? OF COURSE! I have good news. You can be a winner too. Did you know you were more likely to get struck by an asteroid (BTW, that would be no fun) than win the big lottery? Not very good odds.
There’s a winner EVERY time someone says yes to Jesus. Eternity in heaven is worth far more than ANYTHING this world has to offer.
Dear Parents,
I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH the importance of being a part of a church family. FAITHFULLY attending and supporting that church will make an impact in the lives of your children that doesn’t just affect them, but future generations. I’m not just saying this as a pastor, but as a person who cares. I’ve seen FAR TOO MANY times what this decision can do…I’m thankful for the heritage I had in church. NO DOUBT it played a HUGE part in making me who I am today. It has helped shape my kids and will do the same for you.
What we make a priority in our life, will one day become a priority in our children.
With love,
Me
We all have tests, tragedies, and triumphs in life. The question is, what are doing with them?
If you hang out with me for any amount of time. You will soon discover I’m a product of the 80’s.
I LOVE the 80’s!
One of my favorite movies is The Karate Kid. I’ve seen it MANY times. When I was younger I always thought the movie was about Daniel-San (wax on-wax off). From his difficult past, to the victorious crane kick in the end. The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize just how important the storyline of Mr. Miyagi was. You have a guy that experienced A LOT in life. Early in the movie you find him dealing with his life encounters by drowning in the sake bottle. If you think about it, he wasn’t really a happy guy…
We don’t see that AWESOME (8o’s word) Myagi grin until he SHARED his life with Daniel.
We’ve ALL been through things. We ALL have something we can use to help others. When we don’t pour out what’s been put in…We become like the Dead Sea…We STINK. We will find ourselves in the sake, complaining often, and eventually end up a miserable person.
I believe Mr. Miyagi needed Daniel-San just as much as Daniel needed him.
So what do we do?
Use EVERY victory and defeat in life to make a difference in someone else.
You have A LOT to give!
You’re MORE VALUABLE than you know.
Here are some interesting statistics on a poll that asked the question, What made you start going to church?:
Almost 80% of people in church are in church because someone close to them invited them!
YOU ARE THE BIGGEST OUTREACH PROGRAM A CHURCH CAN HAVE!
