UPDATE on Alabama Disaster Relief Effort
I would like to thank you for your consideration in becoming a part of the “Trailer of Hope” project that will support those suffering from the devastation of the tornadoes in Alabama.

Our goal is to fill up a tractor/trailer with supplies that will be carried to this town.
A trailer will be dropped off next week at our church campus in Mauldin,SC early next week.
On Saturday, May 14, from 9 am – 5 pm we will be having a “Blitz”. This will be a push to gather as many items as possible.
You can also drop off items Tuesday, May 10 – Friday, May 13, during the hours of 2-6 pm.
Here’s a list of some things that this community needs:
Cleaning Supplies
Non-perishable foods
Paper towels
Washing Detergents
Reusable Shopping bags
Trash bags
Toys
Sports drinks
Towels
Pillows & Blankets
NO BOTTLED WATERS OR CLOTHING NEEDED AT THIS TIME.
They just received a shipment of storage containers and we are getting a shipment here as well. That is no longer a big need.
We would be honored to work along beside you in this effort!

In the Casting Crowns song, If We Are The Body (great song by the way), they ask the questions:
If we are the body,
Why aren’t His arms reaching?
Why aren’t His hands healing?
Why aren’t His words teaching?
Why aren’t His feet going?
Why is His love not showing them there is a way?
(YES, I’m singing this VERY LOUD as I write.)
I love the song, and the message behind it. However, I have to say that I’m finding just the opposite to be true as our church is making plans to help those affected by the tornadoes in Alabama. In just one day, I’ve gotten responses from several church leaders & Christian businesses that are going to partner with us, and be the hands & feet of Jesus.
It’s so cool to see The Body of Christ, be The Body of Christ!

Alabama Tornado Relief (Help The Hurting)
We need your help!
Our church Faith Renewed Outreach Center, along with some other churches and organizations (I will post a list of all that help on here soon) are coming together to help the hurting in Hackleburg, Alabama. This town was severely damaged, and large portions of it were totally destroyed during by the recent tornadoes. You can watch video footage of the devastation here.
We have secured a tractor/trailer and we’re collecting supplies at our church campus (505 S. Main St.) in Mauldin, SC. We are in the process of getting a detailed list of their needs. As soon as that is complete I will post it here on my blog. I do know that they have an immediate need for plastic & rubber type storage containers and tarps.

Quickly Becoming My New Favorite Verses…
Colossians 2:6&7 says, As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
I’ve always loved these 2 verses for several reasons. There’s a lot of very cool things we can learn from them, and apply to our life.
After reading The Message Bible paraphrase, they hit me even harder!

My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.
