3 Powerful words, from a great 80’s song (I currently have it set as my ring tone)!
Journey has always been one of my favorite bands. (Steve Perry is one of the greatest male vocalist to ever hold a microphone.)
As much as I like the song, other than those 3 words, the rest of the song has very little significance.
The song basically talks about holding on to a “feeling” that you can do better for yourself one day. I’ve discovered just the opposite to be true. Anytime I’ve tried to put confidence in my own strength and ability, I’ve failed miserably.
We have to put our faith and hope in Jesus. Faith is not a “feeling” that we hold on to, but a hope and trust that we put in HIM.
Jesus said in Mark 9:23, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
So, Don’t Stop Believing… Hold on to Jesus. (If only I could sing this like Steve!)
My 14 year old son showed me this, and I thought it was too good not to share.
Watch the whole video… POWERFUL!
“First Things First”, is an old saying that we should live by. IF, the FIRST thing is the RIGHT thing.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, to “seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
So many times we get that verse backwards… We seek first the things, and then want to add God when it’s convenient.
Anytime things are out of order in our life, there’s chaos.
Your life could turn around with the application of this one thought.
Put Him first, and keep Him there.
There are A LOT of things that I enjoy about being a pastor, but one of my favorites has to be baptisms.
I love to celebrate someone crossing over from death to life!
Going under the water was a burial of your old life; coming up out of it was a resurrection, God raising you from the dead as He did Christ. Colossians 2:12 The Message
Below are a few pics from the Baptism Service we had this past weekend at Faith Renewed.
