THE BIG QUESTION IS…

ARE YOU IN FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD?

I’ve been asked, are you a Christian?  It’s not a bad question, but I believe this a better one.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:9, God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

The word fellowship in the Greek, (prepare to be amazed at my knowledge :)) is koinonia.  It means to share in unity, close association, participation, and exchange.  True fellowship is giving and receiving.  It’s amazing to think that the God of heaven, even desires to be in fellowship with us.  He wants to give to us, and receive from us.  If our relationship with Jesus only consists of one of those, we are not in fellowship with Him.  If there is no exchange, there is no fellowship…

Have you ever been in a relationship where you did all the giving, and got nothing in return?  How fun was that?  Can we even call that a relationship? The same applies in our relationship with God.  What He gives us, DOESN’T compare to what we give Him.  IT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE!  He gives us eternal life, healing, peace, freedom, strength, love, joy, GRACE… (you get the picture).  Our giving starts with handing over our faults, failures, defeats, sin, & our jacked up lives.  TALK ABOUT AN EXCHANGE RATE!

After that GREAT EXCHANGE happens, He doesn’t stop giving, and neither should we.  If we are in fellowship with HIM, we will be giving our time, finances, gifts, talents… (again, you get the picture).

In my opinion, fellowship IS NOT TALK, it’s walk.

Would love to hear your feedback…

Does our faith require works???
Is faith apart works possible???
